Prior to opening Old Town Dog Walking, owners Bobby and Shannon Mahoney worked as instructors at the Olde Towne School For Dogs, a well respected fixture in Alexandria. Over the years, countless training clients asked for help finding a more personalized dog walking service. We finally realized we were who they were looking for, so in 2009 we opened Capitol Heel Dog Walking, now Old Town Dog Walking. The Mahoneys’ background has been a bonus for those clients who have already made the investment in training, and has been essential in helping clients prepare their new puppies for greatness! But don’t worry, untrained dogs are always welcome in the OTDW family! In fact, all of our clients benefit from the consistency within our visits.
In 2007 the Mahoneys founded the Olde Towne Dogge Walke, an annual event that ran for seven years, raising money for non-profit organizations such as the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, and Veterans Moving Forward, Inc. Bobby has also organized and emceed the hilarious Fun Dog Show, which takes place at Market Square on the morning of the annual Alexandria St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This must-see event raises money for local animal welfare and rescue organizations. We love to rally the dog community for a great cause!
Old Town Dog Walking is not officially affiliated with Olde Towne School For Dogs.
